Painting on Country
We acknowledge the Ngunnawal people as the Traditional Custodians of the Canberra region, and recognise the Ngambri, Ngarigo and neighbouring Nations whose lands we paint on.
For tens of thousands of years, First Nations peoples have cared for and interpreted this Country through deep cultural knowledge and artistic expression. Long before we arrive with easels, these landscapes have been observed and represented through story and mark-making.
We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
